"8.000 euros por una edición del Quijote de 1780. Un particular adquirió por 8.000 euros una edición del Quijote impresa por Joaquín Ibarra en 1780, y considerada una de las más bellas publicadas hasta entonces, en una subasta celebrada ayer en la Sala Durán de Madrid. La magnífica edición del Quijote del siglo XVIII, de la que se tiraron 1.600 ejemplares, fue subastada por el mismo precio de salida. Consta de cuatro volúmenes en plena piel arbórea, con bellos hierros, doble tejuelo, lomo liso y cuajado, con un retrato copia del que el Conde de Aguila regaló a la Real Academia y un mapa obra de Tomás López. Las láminas fueron dibujadas y grabadas en cobre por los mejores artistas de la época como A. Carnicero, J. del Castillo, J. Brunete, B. Barranco, P. Arnal, G. Gil y P. Moles, J. Fabregat, J. Ballester, J. de la Cruz, o G. Ferro y para el texto sirvió de modelo la edición que por entonces se tenía por primera, eso es la segunda de Cuesta, fechada en 1605. Incluye además un trabajo documentado de Vicente de los Ríos con el análisis del Quijote y de la vida de Cervantes."
"Claude Levi-Strauss galardonado con el XVII Premio Internacional de Cataluña
El antropólogo Claude Levi-Strauss (Bélgica, 1908) ha sido galardonado con el premio Internacional de Cataluña, dotado con 80.000 euros. Los escritores Miguel Delibes, Kazuo Ishiguro e Ismael Kadaré, los cineastas Clint Eastwood e Ingmar Bergman, o el cooperante Vicenç Ferrer eran algunos de los 16 finalistas que competían con Levi-Strauss en la XVII edición del Premio Catalunya que concede la Generalitat a aquellas personas que han contribuido con su trabajo a desarrollar valores humanos culturales o científicos. El presidente de la Generalitat, Pasqual Maragall, ha hecho público hoy el veredicto, en su calidad de presidente del jurado, que estuvo integrado por el filósofo Xavier Rubert de Ventós, Wijdan Ali, historiadora del arte, Ricard Bofill, arquitecto, Juan Manuel Bonet, crítico de arte, Josep Maria Castellet, escritor y editor, Núria Espert, actriz y directora teatral, Edgar Morin, sociólogo, Baltasar Porcel, escritor, Andrea Riccardi, historiador, Mstislav Rostropóvich, violoncelista; y el historiador Hugh Thomas. De manera excepcional, el presidente de la Generalitat, Pasqual Maragall, entregará el galardón al filósofo y antropólogo el próximo 13 de mayo en la Academia Francesa de París, "no sólo por la significación de la persona, sino también por su edad, 97 años". En nombre del jurado, el filósofo Xavier Rubert de Ventós destacó que "se trata del último gran pensador vivo en la tradición francesa de codificar lo que pasa en el mundo, y además un pensador que se ha negado a separar Naturaleza y Cultura"."
